I don't know if you guys are aware of an emerging trend of completely self-contained 140 character stories. Sometimes they are a blip of action, but some times they say so much in so little space. I specialize in sci-fi / alternate realities on my stream @twirledview.

I was personally inspired by @arjunbasu who defined the "twister" prose form to me as requiring exactly 140 characters and being a complete story within those limits. We both adhere to this standard in our writing.

I've wanted to find a place to get started in writing for nearly 20 years. I've written things off and on during that time, but I never had a way to be able to move fluidly in and out of writing. As a novice writer, my concern was simply being able to start and complete something. This form has given me a place I can do that nearly every day. It is also helping me to build the writer habit which can be difficult to develop for a busy person (I own my own business). Since I have started with Twitter, however, I have finally found writing back in my life and feel more fulfilled because of it.

Thanks!
