  • It is clear that twitter is not going anywhere and must be implemented as part of a marketing strategy. Thanks for being so innovative. I hope that as a fellow developer making an app for twitter than I can do the site proud :)

  • Twitter is hot! Who knew? 'Also nuts for "140 Characters", I think Dorothy Parker and A. Wolcott would be humping your leg over both.
I had shied away from any real reading on my iPhone until I downloaded "140". 'Am pretty pleased, haven't but will use "C&V' commands.
I may be missing something but I cannot find a way of bookmarking to find my way back after closing and reopening the app; barring that a preference allowing "snap back" after closing and reopening would be dandy. At times like this my a-- simply "puckers" for contextual menus. POP!
If that's my only problem my day is good! Sorry about yours Salvatore.

    Thanks for your patience.

  • I really can't take this application seriously because it's developed for an iPhone. Port to something I'd rather have in my pocket than a poor phone that plays music poorly.
  • hi Salvatore,

Mentioned in the Hypertext Edition are two dozen more Apps of interest:
    http://www.140characters.com/app/28reading/

Some were developed or tested by me, most of them by others, and some of them across-platforms. Which platform would you prefer?

    Thanks,
    @Dom
  • I would much rather see an application like this developed for a platform that inspires innovation. Namely, Android.

  • Not impressed with a company that only caters to iPhone users. It irritates me beyond belief. When you come out with an app for Windows Mobile, then I will download and purchase.
  • Not impressed with anyone who can't recognize that developers cater to the largest userbase with the easiest tools. When there is the same potential in the WinMo market with the same ease of development I'm sure you'll get stuff first. Until then you're second class.
  • Thanks for the feedback, I'll take it under advisement.

  • Ah. So. OK. There is a Kindle version of the BOOK, so it's at least multi-platform. I retract some of my objections.

Still: please consider a more open format for the application.
  • I will consider any format, but only have the resources right now to concentrate on one at a time. Experience with a Book format on iPhone will inform the next platform choice. Thanks for reading and commenting.
  • I'm sorry for being so confrontational -- I had just been through Apple locking me, retroactively, out of my iPod because I use Linux.

Again, you have my apologies. I understand time restrictions too well.

But really, something a *little* less commercial would be a *lot* appreciated. If you want to discuss at greater length, feel free to contact me through my URL.
  • It is *extremely* telling that this is not available in any but a proprietary, DRMed format. Linux? PDF? Anything *not* Apple?
  • What about an app for Blackberry?
  • Great idea. I'm curious about Blackberry development, and the marketplace, but haven't had time to consider it yet. Perhaps in the future.
